Installing and Removing SHARP Box 4 by Giles Novak, November 18, 2013 NOTE: While maneuvering Box 4, do not set it down on its bottom or back sides, to avoid damaging the protruding glass gold-coated mirror. You may set it down with its top or front sides facing downward as these faces are flat metal surfaces with nothing protruding. (By "front" I mean the side with the arched cut-out that faces the incoming photons.) Installing Box 4: STEP 1: Set Box 4 down on Box 3, trying to match the cutout on top of Box 3 with the cutout on the bottom of Box 4. Box 4 will locate via alignment pin. STEP 2: Use two cater-corner flathead bolts (inside Box 4) to attach Box 4 to Box 3. Finger-tighten with Allen key. STEP 3: Install the two brackets that secure Box 4 to the parallelogram-shaped extension to the "SHARC-II tower". The "extra spacer" goes on the far side. Do not over-torque the smaller bolts that connect the brackets to Box 4 as the threads are aluminum. Use washers here as needed. STEP 4: Install the two Box 4 near-side "side panels". One panel has a cutout for the above-mentioned brackets. Each requires just two small bolts. Removing Box 4: Execute the above four steps in reverse, and be sure to save all hardware carefully in a plastic bag that is to be stored with Box 4. Box 4 should be laid in its crate, on its back. Put the "Box 3 cover" on top of Box 4. The box 3 cover is "L-shaped" and has a hole to match the pin sticking up out of box 3. It is held in place by gravity.
