SHARP Set-up Notes for October 23, 2008. John Vaillancourt and Jackie Davidson -------------------------------------- The HWP heaters are all fine, despite my earlier emails. My confusion actually stemmed from what mode the Topward PS should be in (serial or parallel). In the end I played it safe and put it in Individual mode which lets you set separate voltages. HWP rotation and read-outs are confirmed to be working. Gold mirror prior to HWP has some very obvious scratches. They are mostly in the lower-right quadrant when the mirror is observed from the HWP looking backwards along the optical path. I tried taking pictures but the scrathces did not show up. I do not recall seeing these scratches before. SHARC-II alignments - Files 045525 (exit aperture) and 045526 (entrance aperture). - sharcslice was used to make images of the array. - fitgauss was used to find the centroids below: - exit center: X = 16.47, Y = 6.62 (off-center by 0.0, 0.1 pixels) - entrance center: X = 16.51, Y = 6.72 (off-center by 0.0, 0.2 pixels) - no chnages made to SHARC-II alignment SHARP alignment: - Files 045527 and 045530 = entrance aperture - Files 045528 and 045529 = exit aperture - Centroid offsets from nominal center for entrance from fitgauss: H27 = (0.58 L, 0.29 U) H30 = (0.58 L, 0.29 U) V27 = (0.95 L, 0.12 D) V30 = (0.95 L, 0.16 D) mean HV mis-alignment at entrance: 0.37 LR, 0.15 UD pixels - Centroid offsets from nominal center for exit from fitgauss: H28 = (0.82 L, 0.41 U) H29 = (0.82 L, 0.41 U) V28 = (0.70 L, 0.25 U) V29 = (0.74 L, 0.21 U) mean HV mis-alignment at exit: 0.10 LR, 0.18 UD pixels - Parallelism: H = 0.24 LR, 0.12 UD pixels V = 0.23 LR, 0.09 UD pixels - Mean exit/entrance mis-alignment H = [0.70 L, 0.35 U] V = [0.84 L, 0.05 U] H - V = [0.14 LR, 0.30 UD]
