This is all of the binned data. Note the dip in the declination. It would seem a better idea to fit the curve without that:



This is the data used in the table of SPOs. The ongoing mystery is why the 90 degree offset between RA and declination is in the opposite direction from all of the later data. (look at the table)

The data is fit to a sine function of the form

SPO = average + amplitude*sin(2*pi(t + phase))

(note the sign on the phase, which may be opposite what you're used to).

The "arb-az" given is the location in arbitrary-az of the point (1-phase), i.e. where sin = 0 and cos = 1.
